Little Johnny is a boss piloting what resembles a large, three legged spider robot. He is fought in Terminal Z in the Port Nixon area.

Strategy: The Little Johnny boss fight can be quite tough. The boss is a large, three-legged spider-like robot with small pincers at the front, and the ability to both spit large ejections of poison and waves of electrical mines which can stun you if you step on them. He also has quite a bit of mobility and can get around quite quickly.

This fight is a little different to most in that the boss does not have a traditional health bar. Instead he has an overheat meter at the top of the screen. Our goal is to located and destroy the five cooling tanks on the boss’s body. There is one of these at the end of each of the boss’s three legs and two on the main body of the robot, beside the pincers.

Initially you’ll want to target the cooling tanks on the boss’s body (and the pincers if you want the V2.0 weapon) as he moves a round a little more erratically and more quickly as the fight progresses, making them a little trickier to target. Once they are done, focus on the legs. Once all five of these have been destroyed, the fight will end.

The boss’s main attacks come from both the pincers on the cockpit of the robot which can perform both lunging and swiping attacks, and from the legs which he can use to both swipe and stomp on you. He can also rise into the air and slam the cockpit down onto the ground, usually if you stay beneath him for too long. Again, you’ll want to let the boss perform these attacks a few times so you can get familiar with his tells. Avoid said attacks and then counter with your own. The cockpit slam attack is particularly easy to avoid and leaves the boss recovering for a decent sized window – hit him with a charge-attack here for some nice damage.

As the fight progresses, the boss will also use his EMP mine attack where he’ll rise into the air and send out a wave of EMP Starfish mines in a circular pattern along the floor outwards from his location. These have the ability to both damage and stun you, so its best to reposition yourself to another section of the arena and lure the boss over to you. Towards the end of the fight, the boss will also eject a large explosion of toxic goop. If you can get around to the side of this, you can attack the boss whilst it is stuck in the attack animation.

After destroying all five coolant tanks, the fight will be completed.

Note: For defeating Little Johnny, you'll earn the Achievement/Trophy 'Overheated'.

Note: If you can sever both of the robot’s pincer arms during the fight, the boss will drop an upgraded, V2 form of his weapon.

For defeating Little Johnny, you’ll receive Weapon – Little Johnny’s Forceps and a new Drone Module – EMP-44 ‘Starfish’.

Note: The Drone Module – EMP-44 ‘Starfish’ will enable you to open all of those magnetically locked doors we have been seeing around the place, opening up some new avenues for exploration.
