Dark Fall: The Journal is a first-person adventure game. It's an atmospheric ghost tale that takes place primarily at the old railway station and nearby hotel in Dorset, England.
The old, abandoned train station in Dowerton conceals the history of disappearances, secrets and hauntings. The nearby Station Hotel was once a crowded, lively place to rest and relax. But on the night of April 29, 1947, something bad happened and all the guests and staff disappeared without a trace. Nobody saw them anymore.
The game starts when you listen to the phone message from your brother. He asks you to meet immediately because 'something went wrong.' You don't go to the train station without delay but unfortunately you don't find anyone. The trace of your brother and all others is lost.
Your task in the game is - by looking for clues, solving puzzles and reading old journals - discover the secrets hidden at the station and the haunted hotel.
